Who's Got Soul?

Style Shout Out to Jon Bon Jovi on your birthday for not only giving so many of us the soundtrack to our lives but also for all of the work you do on behalf of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.

If you know me, you know that growing up in New York and New Jersey I am a big fan of the band
Bon Jovi.  I think that besides being a brilliant musician and songwriter, like Richie Sambora, Jon Bon Jovi is also a brilliant businessman.  In an industry where bands and artists are in one day and out the next, this band has managed to stay on top of their game creating relevant music and gaining more fans and more momentum along the way.

What most people think of when they hear the name Jon Bon Jovi is probably music and hair - the latter has gotten much better with age.  But what most people don't know is that Jon is a humanitarian with amazing heart and soul who was instrumental in creating the JBJ Soul Foundation.  This foundation was created to help families and individuals affected by poverty and homelessness by offering assistance in establishing programs that provide food and affordable housing while supporting social services and job training programs.

In the Fall of 2005 Bon Jovi  headed to Philadelphia  to record a video for the song "Who Says You Can't Go Home"  that featured Habitat For Humanity.  The video showed exactly what people can accomplish when they come together to achieve great things!  It's such a positive song and such a positive video and you can watch the video here

So in celebration of helping others and to celebrate Jon's birthday today the JBJ Soul Foundation has created the Birthday Wish campaign.  The campaign is a fundraising effort for the foundation.  Send Jon a birthday card and donate what you can because every little bit helps to enhance the lives of those in need.

Happy Birthday Jon and thank you for the music, the memories and the work you are doing to help people in need create some really good memories of their own.  So today I know the answer is Jon Bon Jovi if the question is "Who's got soul?"
